I work with pencil and brush, with the occasional stroke of felt for large black areas, then scan the drawings and transform them to vector format. This way, I can scale and rework the images at will, add components, colors, crop for effect... Sky's the limit it seems.
Simplicity has proven best so far. I stick to the message being told and don't get lost into too many details. Though spectacular images have their interest, they may stray from the essence. Nevertheless, I look to expanding my skills and gladly challenge myself to do more and more interesting scenes.
I work a day shift on a full-time job that I appreciate very much. I still love to draw and I've also taken on photography as a great complement to my artistic skills.
Though I was interested in cartooning, I'm not convinced I can elaborate interesting stories and carry them through very far. So I'll stick to my strengths with pencil, brush and coloring, for now, and see where that leads me.
